I work in a high school of the city which I grew up. Things have changed and challenges are different now. Today I had a huge moment after I spoke with a student. She broke my heart and I could do nothing but go to the faculty restroom and cry. Her tears, fears, and needs are beyond anything that I can help her fix. That is hard for me to take! She has finally found a home to take and half way show her love.

  1. It's heartbreaking and as one of your co-workers, I completely understand how you felt today. Every time I turn around, I'm hearing stories of children dealing w/challenges that even we as adults will probably never face in our lifetime. I don't understand but I have faith in the only one who does and that's what sustains me. Come down the next time you need to cry...I can't make it better but I have some really soft kleenex!

  2. You were the ear and heart that she needed. You will have THOUSANDS of students, but she will only have that one special administrator from her high school!!! Thank you for letting Christ shine through you.
